- Our intensive French courses are suitable for learners from complete beginners to advanced students.
- The nature of our French language immersion courses facilitates intensive initial learning or ongoing improvement in French.
- On arrival on our intensive French courses, participants are tested and placed in a group corresponding to their level, to enable them to progress at their own speed.
- Participants continue to improve systematically in all fields of written and oral French.
- Theme-based language workshops promote faster progress in a specific field.
What can you study?
- 4 weeks: 78 hours of intensive coursework divided into 26 weekly classes (3 credit hours transferred to Suffolk)
- 8 weeks: 156 hours of intensive coursework divided into 26 weekly classes (6 credit hours transferred to Suffolk)
- You may also earn 1 credit hour per test if you elect to take and pass the national DELF and DALF exams after completing your coursework.
- Classes are conducted entirely in French
If a participant has fulfilled attendance requirements, a certificate signed jointly by CAVILAM and Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand, along with a detailed evaluation of his ability in French, will be delivered at the end of the course.
Housing: CAVILAM will place you with a local host family so that you can practice French both inside and outside the classroom. Breakfast and dinner are included.
Visas: If you are a U.S. citizen, you will not need a visa unless you are spending more than 90 days in France. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with the French embassy to determine if you will need a visa during your study abroad program.
Dates: Session 1: July 3-28, Session 2: July 31-August 25. You can select to attend just one session for 3-4 credit hours or attend both for 6-8 credit hours.
