This is a general application for Suffolk University scholarships to study abroad or away. This includes the McDonnell Scholarship and the MBA Excellence Fund Scholarship.
About the McDonnell Scholarship:
The McDonnell Scholarships are need- and merit-based awards of up to $1,500 for Suffolk undergraduate students embarking on study abroad programs. The scholarships are funded by a generous gift of Sawyer Business School alumnus and entrepreneur, Ed McDonnell, a long-time advocate for and supporter of global travel at Suffolk University.
*While any student may apply for a McDonnell Scholarship, award priority will be given to students of the Sawyer Business School attending short-term programs.
Once selected, recipients of McDonnell Scholarship awards will be required to compose a personal, hand-written thank-you note to Mr. Ed McDonnell for his support and generosity. Should you need one, The Center for International Education and Study Away will provide you with the note card and envelope.
Deadlines to apply:
- October 15 for study abroad/away programs occurring the following spring
- March 15 for study abroad/away programs occurring the following summer or fall
You must submit a completed study abroad/away application in order to be considered for this scholarship and meet all of the eligibility requirements to study abroad/away.
About the MBA Excellence Fund Scholarship
The MBA Excellence Fund Scholarship is a need- and merit-based awards of $800 for Suffolk MBA students required to complete a travel seminar course. The scholarships are funded by generous gifts of Sawyer Business School MBA alumni.
Deadline to apply:
- November 15 for study abroad/away programs occurring the following spring
Once selected, recipients of the MBA Excellence Fund Scholarship awards will be encouraged to attend the biannual meeting with the MBA alumni board post travel. You must submit a completed travel seminar application in order to be considered for this scholarship and meet all of the eligibility requirements to study abroad/away.
